Rumors, Rumors…Dawgs Be Barking!
by Manhatten Canine

Question:  Hey Manhatten, did you go to the Arnold dude?  I heard it was a blast.  Read some pretty fantastic things on some other websites about women, booths, new products, etc.  Please give us the inside scoop from your perspective.  I didn’t have a chance to go and wanted your opinion on the whole thing.  Should I go next year.

Answer:  Well, yes indeed I went to the Arnold (that’s the Arnold Classic for those who don’t know)!  If you have never gone before to one of these shows, you should really try and go.  I’m not saying this because you’ll walk away with tons of new bodybuilding and fitness knowledge about training and supplementation but because it is like a circus.  The funniest thing is everyone parading around in their tshirts in freezing weather.  It gets even worse though as these same folks walk around doing a lat spread the whole time.  It’s like everyone is carrying around invisible pales of paint.  It is really a sight to behold.  Of course you’ll also see a host of fake boobs and bleached blonde hair as well as some women who look like men.  The other thing that makes me laugh is all the small supplement companies with big egos trying to make themselves look big by spending a ton of money at these events.  We talked to several so called manufacturers and you wouldn’t believe the stuff that was pouring out of their mouths.  It was funny but disgusting at the same time.

Question:  Anabolic Extreme has been trying to get a picture of TC Luoma from Testosterone for months.  Have you had any success in getting this?

Answer:  I actually haven’t tried too hard and the one chance I had I blew royally.  I went to the Arnold Classic and sure enough he was there but I didn’t have a camera.  Let me tell you that this guy is not built half of what he says he is.  I would say that he is about 210 pounds with about 15% bodyfat.  I mean c’mon you could see his gut through his clothes.  He is definitely not the 230 pounds of ripped steel that he says he is.  Don’t these people realize that they would get much more respect from people if they would just tell the truth?  I mean I talked to a couple of people there that noticed this and were pretty disgusted.  C’mon guys just tell the truth and we all will respect you for that.  Is this too much to ask?

Question:  What is the deal with this 1-AD product that Patrick Arnold is selling?  I’m kinda unusual I guess.  I am a 50 year old dad with two sons of 17 and 19 years.  I am in pretty good shape I think and have experimented with many supplements over the years including prohormones.  I actually like prohormones and do pretty good with them but I need pretty high dosages like around a gram per day.  This 1-AD is pretty expensive but it sounds really good and I would like to try some.  Please tell me if it is worth the money and if it works pretty good.

Answer:  Some of the stuff I can answer and some of it I can’t.  I really don’t know if 1-AD is worth the money.  Honestly, it seems a little expensive but that all depends I guess on how good it works.  Since I haven’t tried it, I can’t say.  I will tell you though that Pat is a smart guy.  I haven’t seen or heard of him conning someone and he usually doesn’t like hype.  I would say to go ahead and try this if you like other prohormones.  As far as I can tell the chemistry behind this stuff seems sound.  I would tell you though to beware of certain people in this industry.  I honestly have no ties to this product or to Patrick Arnold and so am unbiased in my commentaries.  Some others though will say or do anything to bring others down.  Who am I talking about?  I don’t want to mention specific names but they are all affiliated with jealous and petty supplement companies that revel in putting competitors down at any cost.  If these guys carry a particular product then it is the best.  However, if they don’t carry it then it will either “not work” or be “highly toxic”.  Just be on the look out.

Question:  Who had the nicest booth at the Arnold?

Answer:  I really liked Labrada’s booth and EAS’s.  They were well designed and professional and a league above the others.  I am quite critical of some companies which are obviously small and try to put on a big show for everyone.  I remember over the last several years companies like this which had to “impress” everyone but then went out of business that same year.  One of the companies that reminded me of this at the Arnold this year was the Biotest booth.  It was a fairly nice booth (nothing though like they hyped it to be) but was way overdone for a company of their standing.  I liked the way Cytodyne’s booth was done up.  It was simple, relatively small and yet professional.  Now, these guys know marketing so why did they opt for a simple and frugal setup?  I believe these guys are smart and know where to put their money.  They probably realize that a big booth might boost your ego but it does nothing for your bottom line.

Question:  I’ve heard of a few rumors that Charles Poliquin was going to start working with Anabolic Extreme.  Is there any truth to this?

Answer:  This question took me many, many hours to try and figure out.  From what I gather, Charles has made a commitment to help out but he is a very busy person and so some of the projects have been delayed.  If I’m not mistaken some things are being worked out right now.  Stay tuned; I’ll keep you posted

Question:  I was on another website the other day and saw this information on something called “type 1” and type 2” steroids.  What’s this all about?  I have read tons of information on steroids and how they work and have never read anything like that.  Is this a new theory that UCLA has proved?  Is it something I should be worried about?

Answer:  Should I laugh or should I cry?  I feel like laughing because this “theory” is so ridiculous; I feel like crying because I am sick and tired of the bull in this industry.  You can literally stack it 100 feet high.  Was this so called “theory” developed by respectable researchers?  Was it because it made sense?  The answer to both of these questions is a resounding, NO!  This “theory” was developed for one purpose and one purpose only and that is to sell more supplements.  This “theory” was developed by someone that has a vested interest in the supplement industry.  He wanted to sell more of the supplements that he was developing so he waved his magic wand and created this nice sounding “theory”.  The problem is that this “theory” holds absolutely no water and is backed by no research whatsoever.

I’m going to be honest with you.  If anyone says he knows why different anabolic steroids behave differently in all cases then he is a liar.  Sure, we know a little about some steroids like testosterone which converts into the more androgenic DHT but there is really no viable theory as to why some steroids are so great and others are full of negative side effects.  Some studies show a variance in the androgenic steroid receptors which make them either more receptive to one steroid over the other.  For instance, in the studies one receptor variant bound testosterone better than DHT while the other bound DHT better than testosterone.  This actually makes a bit of sense here and might explain why some steroids work better than others.  It also might explain why some steroids work in some people while these same steroids do not do that well in others.

Question:  My friend was telling me about this legendary steroid called Clostebol.  Do you know anything about this steroid?

Answer:  Clostebol is also known as Chlorotestosterone and is actually an incredible steroid.  I could only wish that it was readily available today.  I consider this one of the best steroids ever developed.   Research has actually proven that this steroid does not convert into estrogen nor does it convert into a more androgenic species via the 5-alpha reductase enzyme.  This steroid has also been shown not to be progestational.  It was a true favorite in the former Eastern Block countries and many a Gold Olympic medal was won using this steroid as a base.

Question:  What’s the deal with all of these Finaplix conversion kits on the market?

Answer:  Stay away from these if you want to stay out of jail (or to just stay healthy).  Are you really that desperate?
