Extreme Q&A
by Jason Meuller
IT'S ALL JUST STEROIDS
Question: I often here of the website using the term "genetic potential". Who has it, who doesn't. Anyone starting with an average physique has no limitations on how he can build his body. I don't think all the present IFBB bodybuilders were stacked w/muscle at age 15. I'm sure some of them started at very small and slender physique. It's just that probably all of them have juiced it up. So it's not genetic potential, it's who has the balls to take steroids, cause from what I understand, it's impossible to attain a physique like Ronnie Coleman without taking steroids.
Answer: I hate to admit it, but comments like this really irritate me. On one hand, the writer is correct, it is impossible to attain an Olympian level physique without the use of steroids. On the other, his comment, "it's not genetic potential, it's who has the balls to take steroids" is to me, incredibly insulting and demeaning. Comments like this are a result of ignorance, or even worse, petty jealousy.
I'm sure everyone reading this column has at one time or another heard some pipsqueak at the gym say, "I'd be that big too if I took steroids." Oh, if it were only that easy. I guess there really are a lot of neophytes out there that truly believe that all it takes to achieve a body like Ronnie's is the willingness to use drugs. I also know there are thousands of insecure men working out in health clubs and gyms across the world who feel the need to remind everyone of their natural status when they see a bodybuilder built better than themselves.
"Yes, he does look better than me, but remember, I'm natural!! If I took half the shit that guy takes, watch out!"
Easy now Mr. Puniverse, you're going to pop a blood vessel. In essence, people who make comments like this are saying that the ONLY reason someone has attained their level of development is through the use of anabolic steroids. Never mind the years spent in the gym, the countless hours spent preparing and eating food, the thousands of dollars spend on supplements, and last but not least, let's not give the poor guys parents any credit at all for having some decent genetics. Nope, none of that other stuff matters, it's all the drugs.
The bottom line is that professional bodybuilders, just like any other professional athlete, are incredibly genetically gifted. I've seen thousands of steroid-using bodybuilders that have never developed a physique that could win a local show, much less a pro-qualifier. To say that these athletes have these bodies simply because of drug use impugns the years of work it takes to develop such a body. It's also a sure sign that the person saying it is never going to amount to a hill of beans because they don't understand the importance of training, nutrition, and supplementation.
HELP WITH HAIR LOSS!
Question: I'm very concerned about hair loss as I work as an international model for a living, so your advice is crucial and extremely appreciated. Do you think that I would be better off taking either deca, primobolan, or anavar in low dosages so as not to start
losing any hair? I've read that primo is derived from DHT and may cause this more readily than deca, but I've also heard that primo is less androgenic. Also do bodybuilders use Propecia to help stop hairloss, and is it effective from what you have seen? Please give me some recommendations for using steroids without causing ANY hair thinning.
Answer: Well friend, you've come to the right place, anyone that's seen a picture of me knows I'm an expert when it comes to hair loss. Unfortunately, that's not due to my thick mane of hair, it's because I'm completely bald! Despite this fact, I think I can help you with your situation.
Since you're a male model, you won't need to take very large dose of any of these steroids. That's good, because virtually any steroid will accelerate male pattern baldness if taken in significant (i.e. bodybuilding) amounts. I'd stick with moderate doses of deca myself, simply because deca will covert to dihydronandrolone (DHN) via the 5-alpha reductase enzyme present in the skin. DHN is a much weaker androgen than DHT, so moderate use of deca does not accelerate hair loss. I'd avoid using Propecia when using deca, since Propecia inhibits the formation of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme which is necessary to convert nandrolone to dihydronandrolone.
YOUR DISCUSSION BOARDS ROCK!!
Question: I've been a little pissed off lately because I was a regular on the old Extreme Forum and your new boards didn't seem to be working properly. I had tried to log on a bunch of different times with no luck at all, and had just about given up hope. I received an email the other day informing me that the boards had been fixed so I decided to give them one last try. I'm happy I did, because your new boards rock! I just wanted to email you guys and thank you for doing such a great job on the new site, especially the discussion boards.
Answer: Yes, we did finally work the bugs out of our new discussion boards, and even I'm impressed with some of the changes the web design team incorporated. I would have to say that these are the best bodybuilding boards on the net, and I assure you, I'm complete unbiased. Uhhh….yeah. Anyway, if you haven't already done so, I urge all of you to check out our new discussion boards and make your own decision.
ORAL GH SPRAYS
Question: I'm getting ready for a show and want to increase the levels of GH in my body to help me lean out without losing too much LBM. Unfortunately, I can't afford to take GH in the levels you recommended in your last Q&A column, so I'm wondering if I could use one of the many oral GH sprays on the market. Could you recommend which of these sprays I should use and how much I would need to take in order to see some good results?
Answer: My advice to you would be to skip the oral GH sprays and buy some Binacca. At least with Binaca you'll have fresh breath. Oral GH sprays are homeopathic preparations, and contain no measurable amounts of growth hormone. Even if it did, GH is a protein that is destroyed when administered orally. The idea behind homeopathic medicine is that by taking a small amount of a substance and diluting it over and over again, the properties of the original substance are somehow imparted to the fluid used for dilution. Makes sense, right?
I've come up with a simple way for people to make their own oral GH sprays at home. Purchase a bottle of Nutropin and carefully measure out 4 IU's into a syringe. Now walk out to your backyard and inject these 4 IU's into your pool. Now put on a pair of swim trunks and perform cannonballs off your diving board to make sure the GH gets thoroughly mixed and diluted by the pool water. After about an hour of cannonballs, simply fill a spray bottle with this magical pool water. Presto! You've now got your own unlimited supply of homeopathic GH spray. Be careful swimming too much, I'd hate to see anyone suffering from acromegaly.
The pharmaceutical industry has been searching for years for a way to elevate GH levels through a pill or spray. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on trying to devise such a drug. Trust me when I tell you these guys simply didn't overlook a homeopathic remedy. Save your money, this stuff is worthless.
WHY DEREK CORNELIUS?
Question: I can't believe you are now partnered with Syntrax Innovations and Derek Cornelius. I've heard that Derek is one of the biggest scoundrels in the sports supplement industry, and can't believe you would allow AE to be associated with such an individual. What happened to all your ethics you've been shoving down our throats for so many months?
Answer: This isn't the first email I've gotten about Derek and Syntrax, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Due to the nature of the business in which I'm involved, it wouldn't matter who I let advertise on the AE website, someone would be unhappy. People in bodybuilding, particularly those in the sports supplement industry, seem to take great pleasure in taking vicious shots at each other. I've heard scandalous things about nearly every major player in the industry, and take most of this stuff with a grain of salt.
I'd had quite a few advertisers on board before Syntrax, but none of them were involved in the supplement business. When I was contacted by Syntrax about advertising on the website, I had to make a careful decision. I've been a vocal critic of some of the companies involved in the business, so it was very important to me that I didn't affiliate with a company that conducted themselves in an unacceptable (to me anyway) fashion. I had some degree of familiarity with Syntrax and their product line, but not enough to enter into any kind of business arrangement with them. So, I did a little research, and contacted a few trusted associates in the business. Needless to say, Syntrax passed the test.
I've been fortunate enough to develop a friendly relationship with Derek, and I can assure you, he's not the biggest scoundrel in the sports supplement industry. Actually, Derek is only ranked #6 on the scoundrel list. I had always told myself I'd never get involved with anyone who made the top 5, so Derek just squeaked by.
In all seriousness, Derek is a great guy. On a professional level, I'd have to consider him and Pat Arnold as two of the top minds in the supplement biz. It's really fascinating to have access to someone like Derek, because he's able to inform me about many of the new products that will eventually be on the market. On a personal level, the thing that has impressed me the most about him is his spirituality and his code of ethics. I'm not a particularly religious person, but one of the first things Derek impressed upon me was that he was a man who had a very strong system of beliefs and tried to live a moral life. I for one believe that it's impossible to separate a person's private life from their business life. If a person lives an immoral and destructive life outside of their job, I can guarantee you that will reflect on how they conduct themselves in business.
I'm currently in the process of contacting other companies that would benefit from advertising in the pages of AE. It's a tough road, not very many companies want to advertise in the pages of a publication that tells it like it is. I have no doubt that I'll get some hate mail every time I get a new advertiser on board, it's the nature of the business. The only thing I can promise you is that if you see an ad for a company on AE, they’ve passed my test. That's something most companies in this business are not able to do.
MMMMM, IS THAT FINAPLIX I SMELL COOKING?
Question: Thank you for all the information on boiling down finaplix-h. I can't believe the detail you went in to report this process. It really helps. However, you describe that 1 cartridge has 10 implants in it. I am a little confused. According to the cartridges I have there are 10 rows in each cartridge and 10 pellets in each row. Each pellet is very small and I can't believe that it has 200mg of trenbolone in it. Will you please clarify the recipe? Should I use the entire cartridge or just 1 row to make 1 22-24cc bottle?
Answer: Actually, you should thank a gentlemen who goes by the name of Bytor for taking the time to meticulously record the proper way to extract trenbolone from finaplix. He was kind enough to let us use his very detailed report in my article on cattle implants (see the archives, issue #3).
Despite the fact that the instructions are VERY detailed, I've received an untold number of emails concerning various details of the whole process. I guess that's understandable, it's not like we're baking a cake here. After all, the whole point of breaking down fina is to produce a sterile liquid that's meant for injection.
To answer your question, each finaplix-h cart contains 100 tiny pellets, each containing 20 mg of trenbolone acetate, not 200 as you stated in your email. It takes an entire cart to make 2000 mg of trenbolone.
WHAT'S THE STORY WITH GHB?
Question: I was a big fan of GHB and the GHB-precursors like Renewtrient and Blue Nitro. Now that GHB is illegal, I can't seem to locate any of these products on the market. Do you know where I can find anything that mimics the effects of GHB?
Answer: If 60 Minutes were to ever take a close look at the whole GHB fiasco, they'd find a story that exposed the FDA as the bumbling, corrupt agency it is. I have quite a bit of experience with the FDA and the recall of GHB precursors, as I was producing a GBL (gamma butyrolactone, a chemical that turns into GHB when it enters the body) product at the time the shit hit the fan. Advanced Athletic Nutrition (a company I own) has been producing RemForce for several months before the ban went into effect.
Under DSHEA (see Nelson Montana's article in issue #17 if you're scratching your head), both GHB and GBL should be considered dietary supplements. However, several years ago, the FDA and DEA began pressuring individual states to pass laws to make possession and use of GHB a criminal offense. These laws gave rise to the plethora of GBL products that hit the market, including Renewtrient, RemForce, Blue Nitro, and FireWater. Despite the fact that GBL (under the name 4-Hydroxybutanoic acid lactone) appears on the FDA's own list of substances (known as EAFUS or Everything Added to Food in the United States) that are approved as food additives and recognized as safe for human consumption, in February of 1999 they declared any product containing GBL to be an unnaproved new drug and pulled them from the market. Anyone can view the hypocrisy of the FDA by pulling up the EAFUS list at http://vm.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/eafus.html. In the preface of the document, it states, "This list of substances contains ingredients added directly to food that FDA has either approved as food additives or listed or affirmed as GRAS" (generally recognized as safe).
GHB is now a Schedule I drug federally. To put this into perspective, cocaine and marijuana are only Schedule II. GHB has been vilified by the FDA and law enforcement as a killer, a date-rape drug, and variety of other hysterical labels. So I had to laugh when I heard that GHB is undergoing clinical trials and should be approved as a Schedule III mild sleep aid by the FDA sometime next year. It certainly is amazing how a killer date-rape drug could ever be used as a mild sleep aid, but hey, that's the FDA in action folks. I should mention that this product will be referred to as sodium oxybate when it's approved, "GHB" is no longer politically correct.
You are not alone, there are a lot of people who used GHB and these precursors in an intelligent, therapeutic fashion who lament the fact that they are no longer available. However, GBL is not the only precursor to GHB, products containing 1,4 butanediol were also sold as GHB precursors up until very recently. While neither GBL or 1,4 butanediol can now be sold for human consumption, 1,4 butanediol can be easily and legally purchased from a variety of sources. Unfortunately, GBL cannot, as it was made a List I chemical when GHB was scheduled federally. This requires that all purchases and sales of GBL are recorded so the DEA can track its use and ensure it's not being used to manufacture GHB.
1,4 butanediol is a fantastic cleaner, and although ingesting it would be a misuse of the product, it's been known to happen. If you're looking to obtain some 1,4 butanediol to help get your house spic and span or to clean some ink jet cartridges, you should check out www.rejoov.com. I should mention that Rejoov was sold as a nutritional supplement a while back, although why I find it necessary to impart such information confounds me at the moment. The only difference between the nutritional Rejoov and the current version that is now marketed as a cleaner is the label. Of course, this doesn't mean that anyone should go out and drink this stuff, doing so would be wrong! 1,4 butenediol will also become a listed chemical sometime next year, making it impossible for the average citizen to obtain it, so stock up on this fantastic cleaner while you still can!!
